Don's 2004 World Tour is currently taking him to USA, Australia, China (hong Kong), Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. With this momentum, expect even more dates to be added.

UK Date

The latest leg of Don McLean's 2004 World Tour is confirmed - he will play at concert at Castlewellan, Northern Ireland on August 7th. The venue is close to the Mountains of Mourne.

"Don's interpretation of the song "Mountains of Mourne" is acclaimed as the greatest ever version by all. We thought it would be great if Don could bring the song home to the actual Mountains of Mourne here in beautiful Co. Down, Northern Ireland. The venue is absolutely beautiful with a fairytale castle a lake and a natural amphitheatre set in the forest park in the heart of the Mourne Mountains. We do hope he will include the song in his performance. Our website will be updated in early May with full information about accomodation, travel and full programme for the ten day festival. "

Australia 2004

In addition to the two Irish dates on 7th and 8th August 2004 Don McLean will be touring Australia 15th to 27th September 2004.

Don McLean may well be giving concerts in Hong Kong at the end of May and may do some dates in Scandanavia before the two in Ireland.

In The USA Don will perform in front of 100,000 on his July 4th date in Atlanta GA. After the Australian tour he will be doing a concert in St Louis MO for PBS at the Sheldon Concert Hall. PBS is going to broadcast the Starry Starry Night TV special again and will use this new show as a companion to it.

Don will be doing lots of media work in the US around the time of his Hall of Fame entry ceremony in June, including starting the promotion of the official biography which should be available by late 2004.

There are also lots more US dates set to be announced in the next few weeks.

Don McLean will be back in Ireland this summer:

7th August Castlewellan, Northern Ireland, Forest Park
8th August Olympia Theatre, Dublin

Other European dates are being considered.

News Updates

The latest news from Don is that the box set and surround sound version of "American Pie" is being planned by Capitol Records; And I Love You So will be in the Richard Russon HBO movie "Empire Falls" starring Paul Newman; and American Pie will be on the hit show "West Wing" next week.

An Australian promoter is trying to persuade Don to tour and last year's UK tour promoter has also been in touch. Don says: "We'll see".

Don features in "Fingerstyle Guitar" magazine

Don will be on the cover of "Fingerstyle Guitar" magazine. This issue is for January 2004 and will include a CD with versions of "Vincent" and "And I Love You So" done by various fine guitar pickers.
